Gambia is heading towards elections. It is important to have national stability as we head towards the elections. The previous border fracas created a situation of heightening tension in the country immediately after the destruction of the fence of a military installation in Bulock. To prevent any recurrence, it is important for the border commissions of the two countries to earn the fullest confidence and trust of the respective governments and peoples. This is why the commission should be issuing reports and granting interviews to inform the public what has been achieved so far and what is outstanding.
