Wild video shows two young women beating up an off-duty police officer at a Missouri gas station before one of them tries to grab the cop’s gun.
Shocking cell phone footage shows the suspects laying into the officer, with one of them climbing up shelving to jump on his head before the other starts punching him repeatedly in the face.
The man filming the video doesn’t intervene to help the cop, an off-duty Hillsdale Police Department officer who was working a second security job during Sunday morning’s incident at the QuikTrip gas station in St. Louis County.
At the end of the two-minute clip, a police officer enters the gas station and helps to arrest the suspects after one of them tried to remove the victim’s gun from its holster.
The crazed brawl started when one of the suspects, 20-year-old Nayonna Griffin, threw items at the officer, prompting him to approach her, according to charging documents seen by KDSK.
Fellow suspect Shaniya Lewis, also 20, then intervened and struggled with the officer before throwing him to the ground, according to the charging documents.
Lewis repeatedly punched the officer in the face while Griffin stomped on his head, before Lewis reached for the officer’s gun but was unable to remove it from its holster, police said.
When more police arrived and tried to detain Griffin, she allegedly grabbed the officer’s hair, kicking and flailing at him while trying to run away and trying to prevent them from handcuffing her, according to charging documents.
The injured officer was hospitalized for treatment as a result of the attack.
