The Libya Energy & Economic Summit (LEES) 2027 welcomed yesterday four major international energy companies as Diamond Sponsors: OMV, TotalEnergies, BP and Repsol.
The organisers said their participation signals strong industry commitment to Libya’s energy future, reinforcing investor confidence and creating opportunities for strategic partnerships as the country advances its production ambitions.
It added that it is a major highlight that BP is joining LEES 2027 as a Diamond Sponsor for the first time, marking an important addition to the summit’s international network of energy leaders and investors.
LEES said that the companies are driving Libya’s energy expansion:
· OMV – is progressing the Essar discovery in the Sirte Basin toward development, with recoverable resources estimated at 45 million barrels.
· TotalEnergies – is restarting production at the Mabruk oilfield and extending its Waha concessions through 2050.
· BP – Is advancing exploration across the Ghadames and Sirte basins while assessing redevelopment opportunities at established oilfields.
Repsol – Is expanding offshore exploration and pursuing new oil discoveries in the Murzuq Basin.
LEES noted that as Libya drives to achieve 2 million barrels per day in oil production capacity, these investments highlight the scale of opportunity across exploration, field redevelopment and production growth.
It added that LEES 2027 brings the companies, investors and decisionmakers shaping this next phase of development together in Tripoli.
