The Indianapolis Colts suffered one of the season's most damaging defeats Sunday, blowing a 13-0 halftime lead and falling 26-20 to the previously winless Tennessee Titans at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Colts had controlled the game throughout the first half, holding the Titans to just 64 total yards, but the game flipped entirely after the break. Jonathan Taylor fumbled on the first play of the second half, Daniel Jones threw an interception on the next possession, and Indy made several special teams mistakes that cost them the game. The loss dropped Indianapolis to 2-4, and on Monday, the team fired general manager Chris Ballard after a decade with the franchise.
On Tuesday's episode of "Get Up," former Colts center and interim head coach Jeff Saturday criticized Jones' performance, saying the quarterback hasn't been good enough.
"Daniel Jones, this thing has gotten bad," Saturday said. "The game catches up with you. Daniel Jones played in New York, he comes over to Indy, they have a fast start, everything looks good, he gets injured, we're going to go do this again. They've been 2-13? That's not good enough ... Whoever comes in to try to fix the franchise, they've got their work cut out for them. This is not pretty."

Jones' first season in Indianapolis got off to a hot start. After signing with the Colts on a one-year deal in March 2025, Jones won the starting job over Anthony Richardson in training camp and proceeded to lead the team to an 8-2 start. Through 13 games, Jones threw for 3,101 yards, 19 touchdowns, and eight interceptions, posting a career-high 68% completion percentage and 100.2 passer rating.
But his debut season with the Colts took a devastating turn. Already dealing with a fractured left fibula, Jones tore his right Achilles in Week 14 against the Jaguars, ending his season. Indianapolis lost its last seven games and finished 8-9, missing the playoffs.
Jones returned for Week 1 of the 2026 season after months of rehab, but he hasn't gotten things back on track. Through six games, he's thrown for 1,290 yards, four touchdowns, and six interceptions, completing 59.6% of his passes. The Colts have now gone 2-11 since Week 12 of last season.

While there's a good chance his recovery from the Achilles injury is affecting his performance, it doesn't change the fact that the Colts are struggling right now and Jones is part of the reason why. With Indianapolis two games below .500 and Ballard gone, there's real pressure on Jones to prove he can still be a viable long-term answer at quarterback.
