Siemens has announced Simcenter SCADAS ES hardware, a data acquisition system for laboratory, field and mobile testing. Based on the modular technology used in Simcenter SCADAS RS hardware for outdoor data acquisition, the system supports scalable deployment and connectivity across different testing environments.
Traditional testing workflows can create setup delays, data-quality issues and coordination challenges when teams and test environments are distributed. Simcenter SCADAS ES uses a modular architecture that supports remote access, multi-user operation and connections across testing environments.
Simcenter SCADAS ES and Simcenter SCADAS RS are designed to support current testing requirements and future changes in testing workflows. Engineers can remotely configure, monitor and validate measurements while accessing synchronized measurement data.
Key features of the next-generation SCADAS ES and RS data acquisition systems include:
- Modular scalability: Organizations can start with a smaller configuration and add channels, applications, users and testing environments as needed.
- Onboard software: License-free software supports remote access and multi-user collaboration.
- Data for AI workflows: Synchronized, annotated and traceable measurements support data analysis and AI-related engineering applications.
- Open architecture: The systems can connect with existing workflows and third-party technologies.
- Edge-to-expert workflows: Integration with Simcenter Testlab analysis software supports additional engineering analysis.
The systems support existing testing environments while enabling more connected workflows. Simcenter SCADAS ES and Simcenter SCADAS RS also support Test Connect, an open hardware-to-software data exchange interface. Test Connect allows customers to develop applications that connect directly to the acquisition systems, stream measurement data to external software and integrate third-party technologies into testing workflows.
As part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, Simcenter SCADAS ES connects physical testing with digital engineering processes. The system provides test data for simulation correlation, digital twin validation and AI-assisted engineering workflows, supporting analysis across physical and digital environments.
