Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLC from the North Andhra Graduates’ constituency Vepada Chiranjeevi Rao on Sunday (October 18, 2026) said brisk economic activity, industrial progress and effective implementation of welfare schemes would make people of all sections vote for the TDP and its allies, the Jana Sena Party (JSP) and the BJP.
He said North Andhra had been witnessing unprecedented development. He cited the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport and the proposed Reliance data centre at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district, the Google AI data centre near Visakhapatnam, the ArcelorMittal steel plant in Anakapalli district and others.
Mr. Chiranjeevi Rao, who came to Vizianagaram to campaign for the local body elections, told the media that people were eager to vote for the TDP in the ensuing urban, parishad and panchayat elections.
“With the concerted efforts of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister for Education, the State attracted around 1,037 projects with ₹29.3 lakh crore investments. It will create nearly 20 lakh jobs for unemployed youth in the State,” Mr. Chiranjeevi Rao said.
He said the State government had been conducting recruitment drives in a systematic way, strictly following the job calendar. He said over 35,000 jobs would be given in various government organisations.
“Recruitment drives for assistant professors, lecturers, teachers, Group-1 officers and others had been taken up and notifications were also issued for some of them. It had instilled confidence among unemployed youngsters and they would opt NDA parties in local body elections,” he said.
Mr. Chiranjeevi Rao won the North Andhra Graduates’ seat in 2023, when the YSRCP was in power. An academician, he hoped that intellectuals, teachers, lecturers and business persons would vote for the TDP in the municipal and parishad elections because they were satisfied with the efficient administration, sustained development and implementation of new welfare schemes.
