Siam Piwat Group, a Thai developer of landmark retail and leisure destinations, was invited by the Ministry of Finance to host the official spouse programme reception for the spouses of finance ministers and central bank governors during Thailand’s hosting of the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings 2026.
Held on October 16, 2026 at Suralai Hall on the 7th floor of ICONSIAM, the landmark on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, the reception welcomed more than 100 guests from countries around the world.
The company says the Ministry of Finance’s choice of ICONSIAM as the venue underlines the development’s standing as a global destination, and that the event showcased both Thailand’s capabilities and Siam Piwat’s work in creating experiences for international visitors. The group describes the programme as presenting Thai culture, creativity and hospitality, and as allowing delegates to experience the country firsthand.

A further activity was curated by ICONSIAM on October 17, 2026 under the spouse programme, intended to give participants a closer look at Thailand’s cultural heritage and the craftsmanship of Thai artisans.
Siam Piwat says the reception, set along the Chao Phraya, gave the spouses of world leaders and other guests a chance to experience contemporary Thai culture, and reflected the group’s vision of acting as a platform that connects people, cultures and experiences from around the world.
Inside the programme
The programme opened with an exclusive viewing of the “Colours of Craftsmanship: Reflections of Artistry” exhibition at ICONLUXE on the M floor, devoted to the heritage of Thailand’s Royal Barge Procession.

Guests then watched performances representing the cultural identities of Thailand’s four regions: “The Spirit of Lanna,” “Thai Rice,” “Joyful Isan” and “The Enchantment of the Southern Seas.” The group says the performances conveyed the diversity of Thai culture through artistry and storytelling.
The reception also included exclusive photo opportunities before closing with what the organisers called a “4-Region Gastronomic Experience,” a menu of signature dishes from every region of the country, served at Suralai Hall on the 7th floor.
Thailand on the global stage
Siam Piwat says that throughout the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings 2026, Thailand demonstrated its strengths as a regional hub for economics, finance, investment and tourism, and that ICONSIAM contributed to the country’s international image by hosting delegates and presenting Thai identity and soft power.

According to the group, the event highlighted the value of Thai culture, creativity and capability to the international community, supporting confidence, investment opportunities and future international collaboration.
The company says the ministry’s selection of ICONSIAM reflects its commitment to creating shared value through collaboration across sectors, and that, guided by its vision of developing world-class destinations, Siam Piwat remains focused on generating value for the country, its economy and Thai society.
