Everyone involved in the question-paper leak in the Department of Youth Development recruitment examination will be brought under the law and face exemplary punishment, State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque said today (16 October).
"I will personally oversee the recruitment process until the results are published to ensure transparency," he told reporters after inspecting an examination centre at Motijheel Model School and College in the capital this afternoon.
He said six members of a suspected question-leak ring had already been arrested by the Special Response Battalion (SRB).
A full investigation would identify everyone involved, both from within and outside the department, and bring them to justice, Aminul added.
The recruitment exam had earlier been postponed on 10 October following allegations that the question paper had been leaked. The exam was later scheduled for today.
This time, a "zero tolerance" policy was adopted to ensure a fair recruitment process, he added.
Aminul said he himself stayed up late at the Secretariat to oversee the entire process, from preparing the question paper to delivering it to examination centres.
"The exam began on schedule under tight security and was proceeding smoothly," he added.
The state minister also said authorities were trying to publish the preliminary examination results by today.
He expressed hope that the recruitment process for 242 assistant upazila youth development officer posts and other vacant positions would be completed successfully after the written and oral examinations.
