The Korea Exchange activated a buy-side sidecar on the KOSDAQ market on the 16th as the index rebounded sharply from the previous session's plunge.
The measure took effect at 12:55 p.m. A buy-side sidecar is triggered on the KOSDAQ when KOSDAQ 150 futures rise 6% or more from the previous session's close and the KOSDAQ 150 index gains 3% or more, with both conditions holding for one minute.
The KOSDAQ closed the previous session down 7.65% at 760.82, but surged on the 16th to as high as 799.04, approaching the 800 mark.
