Ramayana: Rise of a Legend will stream on JioHotstar after completing its theatrical run, giving audiences another way to watch the upcoming film. However, viewers will need to pay separately to access the movie, even if they already hold a regular subscription.
Director Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious project has partnered with JioHotstar and Prime Focus Studios for its digital release across India. Producer Namit Malhotra said audiences should experience the film on the biggest screen possible, particularly in IMAX 3D. However, he acknowledged that cinema infrastructure cannot reach everyone who feels connected to the epic.

Malhotra described JioHotstar as a natural partner for bringing the film into people’s homes after its cinema release. Meanwhile, JioStar chairperson Nita M. Ambani said the platform aims to make the story accessible to families across the country. She also highlighted its values of duty, love, courage and goodness, which the film hopes to introduce to a new generation.
The film’s pay-per-view option will become available once its theatrical window ends. As a result, subscribers will have to make an additional payment rather than rely on their existing JioHotstar membership. The announcement offers viewers a digital option while keeping the theatrical release as the film’s first viewing window.
