In a tell-all video on her TikTok page, Dr Mc traced his journey back to 2022, when he completed a plumbing course and secured a job with a water company in Nairobi shortly afterwards.
From Supervisor to Struggling Trader
The quick placement into employment came as a relief, and he threw himself into the work with enough dedication to earn a promotion to supervisor.

Before long, the young man had risen through the ranks and was overseeing plumbers who came in for internships.
At 21 years old, he was taking home KSh 45,000 a month before allowances, a figure he was proud of. But the lure of the forex market began to chip away at that discipline.
"Just imagine, at 21 years, making 350 dollars monthly without adding allowances. It did not take long before Satan brought forex to me," he wrote in his post.
Dr Mc said watching content from figures such as Kenyan Prince, who appeared to generate income from their homes without breaking a sweat, planted a seed of desire in him.
"At the back of my mind, just like any other Gen Z, I wanted easy money that I did not have to sweat hard to make," he admitted.
He began spending hours studying trading charts during working hours, and soon started skipping shifts altogether to free up more time for trading.
His output suffered visibly, and colleagues began to notice. When friends pressed him about the behaviour change, he told them he had found a way to "download money in your bedroom."
Homeless, Phoneless and Unreachable
The decision to resign entirely proved catastrophic. With no salary coming in, his savings were rapidly swallowed by failed trades. He could no longer cover his rent and eventually found himself on the streets.
"I blew everything I had saved, and even rent became a problem that I ended up on the streets," he wrote.
The situation became so dire that he sold his own phone to fund further trading attempts, using a friend's device to continue.
During this period, his mother tried calling him repeatedly but could not get through. He recalled sleeping at a construction site, where work sometimes stretched through the night, as one of the hardest chapters of his life.
Dr Mc shared his story openly on TikTok, hoping that his experience would serve as a cautionary tale for other young Kenyans drawn to the promise of fast wealth through online trading.
