Du Plessis and Mercedes-Benz
Beyond the Porsche, much of du Plessis' motoring profile has been shaped by his relationship with Mercedes-Benz. The German automaker welcomed the South African fighter into its Friends of the Brand programme in October 2023, linking the partnership to the all-electric Mercedes-AMG EQE 43 performance saloon. That model produces up to 350kW and 858Nm of torque, reaching 100km/h in 4.2 seconds.

In 2025, du Plessis took part in a Mercedes-Benz driving experience where he tested two contrasting G-Class models. The first was the Mercedes-AMG G63, a performance SUV combining the brand's iconic boxy silhouette with a twin-turbocharged V8 engine.

The second was the all-electric Mercedes-Benz G580 with EQ Technology, which uses four individual electric motors delivering a combined output of 432kW and 1,164Nm of torque. After driving the G580, du Plessis described it on social media as one of the best 4x4s he had ever driven.
