BUSAN — The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will handle hiring for private school administrative staff on behalf of school foundations, the first such program among South Korea's 17 metropolitan and provincial education offices. The move aims to ease the recruitment burden on school foundations while improving fairness and transparency in the hiring process.
The office posted its 2027 open competitive recruitment plan for private school administrative staff on its website on the 21st. It will select 11 staff members to work at nine schools under six school foundations.
Under the arrangement, the education office will conduct a first-round document screening and aptitude and personality tests, followed by a second-round interview. School foundations will then hold a third-round interview and decide the final hires. The structure is designed to strengthen fairness through an education office-led process while preserving the foundations' authority to appoint staff.
Applications will be accepted by mail or in person from Nov. 5 to Nov. 11. Final results are scheduled for announcement on Dec. 9.
"We hope this recruitment will serve as a foundation for the sound development and advancement of private education institutions," Superintendent Kim Seok-joon said.
