The Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up to face off against the Seattle Seahawks, the 2025 Super Bowl champions, for Sunday Night Football in Week 7.
It's a big matchup for Kenneth Walker III, who will continue to run behind the Chiefs' offensive line without first-rounder Josh Simmons. He was placed on IR recently and will miss at least four more weeks.
But the IR news for Simmons wasn't the only thing he was in the news for this week. According to ESPN's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, Simmons was told to leave a team meeting by Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes for a completely ridiculous reason recently.
Josh Simmons told to leave Chiefs meeting for a ridiculous reason
"Josh Simmons was told to leave a Kansas City Chiefs team meeting by coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, a situation for which the second-year offensive tackle later apologized, sources told NFL Network," Garafolo and Rapoport shared.
These NFL insiders revealed that this ridiculous incident occurred on Wednesday of this week, one day before the Chiefs put Simmons on IR due to a back injury.
According to Rapoport and Garafolo, the reason this whole incident began was that Simmons "was sitting with his feet up in the offense's meeting room when Reid asked him to put his feet down."
Simmons "pushed back," according to this report, using his ailing back and hip as an excuse to keep his feet up during the meeting.
That led to even more back-and-forth between Reid and Simmons, before Mahomes reportedly interjected and told Simmons to leave the room to get treatment if his back was really bothering him that bad, the same thing Reid had said.

Getting told that from both Reid and Mahomes, Simmons did end up leaving the team meeting, before later apologizing, "saying he could have handled the situation better."
This is a completely ridiculous story to come out the morning the Chiefs are set to face the Seahawks in primetime to try and extend their 5-0 record to 6-0.
There's been plenty of odd stories to come from the Chiefs on Simmons these past two years, and this one might be one of the strangest.
Such a simple thing blew up to a point where the two biggest faces of the Chiefs dynasty told Simmons to leave the team meeting.
While it might not have been done out of anger, as they told him to get checked by medical personnel, this is still a ridiculous situation that never should've happened in the first place.
