KUALA LUMPUR: Hospitality amenities, personal care products and health foods provider NWE Resources Group Bhd recorded revenue of RM10.6 million for Q1 ended June 30, 2026 (FY27), with the personal care and health foods distribution segment contributing RM4.3 million, or 40.2% of total revenue.
This was followed by the repackaging, manufacturing and supply of personal care and related products segment at RM4.0 million (38.2%), while the formulation and supply of health foods segment accounted for the remaining RM2.3 million (21.6%).
No comparative figures are available for the preceding corresponding quarter and year-to-date results, as this is the first interim financial result announced in compliance with the ACE Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia.
In terms of profitability, the group registered a gross profit (GP) of RM5.9 million and profit after tax (PAT) of RM2.8 million, translating into healthy GP and PAT margins of 56.0% and 26.5%, respectively, an improvement from the margins recorded in the previous financial year.
Commenting on the performance and outlook, group managing director Tan Hong Huat said NWE Resources began FY27 on a strong note, with all three core business segments contributing positively to revenue and profitability.
“The healthy margins we achieved this quarter are encouraging and give us confidence as we head into our listing and the remainder of the financial year.
“Looking forward, we are upbeat on our prospects. The recent success of the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit drew more than 50,000 international tourists and boosted hotel occupancy rates.
“Meanwhile, the recent Budget 2027, which was just tabled on Oct 9, 2026, has RM935 million allocated for tourism-related activities, along with the extension of the Visit Malaysia campaign until the end of 2027.
“These catalysts bode well for our hospitality amenities business,” he said.
In addition, Tan said higher individual income tax relief and lower personal income tax rates for selected middle-income groups are anticipated to raise household disposable income and boost consumer spending, including on personal care and health food products.
“We are confident in our ability to capitalise on these favourable conditions. The proceeds from our initial public offering (IPO) will enable us to accelerate our growth plans, which include developing new health food and skincare formulations, expanding and enhancing our manufacturing capability, strengthening our research and development function, and extending our market reach through live e-commerce and exhibitions.
“Together, these initiatives are expected to broaden our product range, improve cost efficiency and margins, and attract a larger customer base, building on the foundation we have laid over nearly five decades,” he said.
NWE Resources is scheduled to be listed on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia on Oct 21, 2026, and its IPO is expected to raise RM28.6 million.
