Lone’er Kavanagh put on a stunning performance to finish Ramazan Temirov in the first round in a battle of flyweights at UFC 333.
Avoiding a powerful attack coming from his Russian opponent, Kavanagh showed off his own striking with a picture perfect uppercut that put Temirov down on the canvas. Kavanagh kept throwing strikes until the fight was finished with the end coming at 4:28 in the opening round.

“I have an amazing team behind me and we work day in and day out to get these results,” Kavanagh said after the win. “We’ve learned from previous mistakes. Obviously, I’m here for that belt and respectfully anyone can get it.”
Early striking exchanges saw Temirov throwing with power and Kavanagh doing his best to make him miss while circling away. Temirov was looking to do serious damage with every punch and kick but Kavangh displayed good defense.
Temirov finally connected with a strong right hand with two minutes remaining in the opening round but Kavanagh ate it well and fired back with a strong jab of his own.
Out of nowhere, Kavanagh uncorked a perfectly timed counter left uppercut that rocked Temirov badly. Kavanagh wasted no time continuing his assault until Temirov crumbled to the canvas.
Kavanagh stayed on the attack until the referee pulled him off to stop the fight.
The win puts Kavanagh back on track after a disappointing outcome in his previous fight and he remains one of the top flyweights in the sport.
