Traders operating around high-tension cable at the main market in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, have been given seven days to vacate or face eviction.

He emphasised the need for proper market planning, orderliness and strict adherence to safety measures to protect traders, customers and other market users.

The chairman expressed concern over trading activities going on under the high-tension, noting that such practices could expose traders and members of the public to serious electrical hazards.
Ogedegbe reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring a well-organised, safe and properly structured market environment that promotes commercial activities while prioritising the lives and property of the people.
He called on traders and other stakeholders in the market to cooperate with the council and relevant authorities to ensure the successful completion of the demarcation exercise, adding that the exercise was in the overall interest of all.
