KOHIMA, Oct 23: Indigenous entrepreneurs will get an opportunity to showcase their products and expand their businesses at the 27th Hornbill Night Carnival, which will be held as part of the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (KCCI) 50th Golden Jubilee celebrations.
The 10-day carnival will provide a platform for local businesses to reach new customers, promote indigenous products and test new business ideas.
KCCI announced that stall application forms will be available at its office from October 26, with November 7 as the last date for submission.
As part of its golden jubilee initiative, the chamber has encouraged indigenous entrepreneurs to participate and showcase innovative products and local offerings.
Stall owners will be required to maintain daily sales registers throughout the carnival, while awards will be presented in three categories: Best Indigenous Food, Best Indigenous Product and Highest Sales Based on Investment Ratio.
The awards are intended to recognise quality, innovation and business performance among participating vendors.
The carnival will also feature a dedicated stage for performing artists, bringing cultural entertainment alongside commercial activities.
KCCI has cautioned stall owners against charging exorbitant prices, urging them to maintain fair and reasonable rates for tourists and local residents.
The chamber said the carnival would promote indigenous enterprise while providing local businesses and artists with an opportunity to gain wider exposure.
Interested applicants may contact the KCCI office for details on stall applications and participation.
