Blair, 54, was taken into custody late Sunday night after a flight from Los Angeles to New York. She is accused of acting violently and injuring two cabin crew members.
According to reports in American media, the actor tried to open the plane door while it was in the air and bit a flight attendant.
Both Blair and one of the cabin crew members were taken to hospital for examination after the incident, which is being investigated by the FBI.
In a statement, a representative for Blair said she had suffered an "acute medical condition."
Blair is known for roles in films such as “A Devilish Romance,” “Legally Blonde” and “Hellboy.” In recent years, she has become involved in disability rights. She was diagnosed with MS in 2018.
