The Ottawa Senators traded Brady Tkachuk over the summer after he requested a trade. On Wednesday night, the former Ottawa captain returned to the Canadian Tire Centre with the visiting Florida Panthers. Senators fans made their feelings quite known early in this game.
A loud “Brady Sucks” chant broke out after the puck dropped to begin the game. When Tkachuk touched the puck, the chant paused so the fans could boo their former captain. And when defenseman Artem Zub dropped him with a hit along the boards, fans lost their minds.

Senators fans’ joy did not last long, though. Tkachuk scored in his return to Ottawa. He found the back of the net on the power play to make it a 1-0 game.
The Senators are trying to move on without Tkachuk on the roster. Prior to his trade to the Panthers, he had spent his entire career in the Canadian capital. He spent the last five seasons as captain of the team.
