The spokesperson for the Darhamar Emergency Room in Sudan’s West Kordofan State, Azzam Hamed, said in a statement on Tuesday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) assassinated a pharmacist, Dr. Asim Suleiman, owner of the Yassin Pharmacy in the city of Al-Nahud.
He told Radio Tamazuj that the deceased died on Tuesday evening after being hit by a barrage of bullets three days earlier while he and his companions were returning in their vehicle from the market in the Tirya area to the Al-Ghabsha Jaber area in the Al-Nahud locality of West Kordofan State.
The statement from the Dar Hamar Emergency Room added that the RSF simultaneously launched a widespread arbitrary arrest campaign, targeting four people from the areas adjacent to the Salammat area of Al-Nahud locality, where they were detained on malicious and flimsy charges claiming their affiliation with the former regime without any legal basis or constitutional justification.
The spokesman for the chamber indicated that the forces first transferred the detainees to Al-Nahud Prison, before quickly transferring them to Nyala prison in South Darfur State, stressing that these actions come within the framework of the ongoing daily practices and violations to which the masses and unarmed civilians are subjected in the northern localities of West Kordofan State
