The School of Life Science, Pondicherry University has started its academic lecture series on the subject ‘Perspectives in Life Sciences.’
On the inaugural day of the lecture series, Vice Chancellor of Pondicherry University Prakash Babu spoke on the topic ‘Guardian of the Brain: Brain Barrier Integrity, Neurological Disorders and the path to Neuroprotection’.
He underscored the vital role of Blood Brain Barrier (BBB) as a highly selective biological shield which facilitates essential nutrient transport while shielding the central nervous system from systemic toxins and inflammatory triggers.
