Lazio remain top of the Serie A table thanks to Kenneth Taylor and an unfortunate Diego Carlos own goal, as Parma fall to their third consecutive defeat.
The Aquile had a huge opportunity to consolidate their joint leadership with Inter and break away from the chasing pack after a 3-0 victory away to Juventus. Albert Gudmundsson, Nicolò Rovella and Adam Marusic were still out of action, but Kenneth Taylor shook off a knock to confirm the same starting XI as Turin, with Andrea Pinamonti suffering from a sore throat.
Parma lost both games 3-0 to Inter and Torino since Alberto Gilardino replaced Carlos Cuesta, with Nesta Elphege out after appendicitis, joining Pontus Almqvist and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia on the absentee list.
See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.
David Romero had the first chance after six minutes by going on the counter from midfield, forcing Christos Mandas to parry with his legs at the near post.
Davide Frattesi had penalty appeals rejected as he went down under pressure from Mariano Troilo, but Mandas was again called into action on the counter, flying to palm away the El-Bilal Toure header.
Reda Belahyane tested Edoardo Corvi from distance, but Gustav Isaksen could not have come closer on 24 minutes when his header on a dinked Mattia Zaccagni cross thumped the crossbar.
Moments later, Romero went on another dangerous counter-attack to sting Mandas’ gloves.

Lazio thought they had taken the lead on 41 minutes when Isaksen ran into the Tijjani Noslin through ball and swept past the on-rushing Corvi, but his knee and toes were offside.
Taylor’s snapshot from distance tested Corvi, and the hosts finally got the breakthrough after the restart.
Belahyane’s through ball was meant to be for Zaccagni, but hit Diego Carlos, so Taylor ran onto it, bending the ball into the far bottom corner with the inside of the left boot from the edge of the area.

It was nearly 2-0 moments later, Frattesi firing over from 12 yards when trying to redirect a wayward Romano Floriani Mussolini attempt.
Parma crumbled and made a mess playing out from the back, allowing Nuno Tavares to volley a cross from the left that Diego Carlos put into his own net when trying to prevent the Noslin tap-in. Corvi got an accidental knock to the back of the head in the process, leaving him with a nasty cut.
A Zaccagni strike was deflected just over the bar, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru fired over after a promising run, Frattesi turned wide from the Manuel Lazzari assist, and an exhausted Nuno Tavares was unable to make the most of the Dele-Bashiru pass.
Simone Lontani had the only real Parma attempt of the second half in added time, his right-foot curler flashing just wide.
It was a warning, as deep into stoppages Lontani’s cross from the left by-line seemed to confuse Mandas, it bounced off the inside of the far post and goal-line technology confirmed it had crossed over. This was the first goal scored by Parma in the Gilardino era.
It is the best ever Lazio start to a season with seven victories and a 2-2 draw against Milan.
Lazio 2-1 Parma
Taylor 50 (L), Diego Carlos og 58 (L), Lontani 95 (P)
