Footage of SK Group (034730.KS) Chairman Chey Tae-won dining with employees in Euljiro, central Seoul, is spreading across social media.
According to online communities and social media posts on the 22nd, a video uploaded to Instagram at around 9:30 p.m. the previous day showed Chey in casual attire — a khaki shirt and a black padded vest — smiling and chatting with younger employees at a restaurant. The clip had drawn close to 1.1 million views as of 9:30 a.m. on the 22nd, roughly half a day after it was posted.
Chey is said to have moved on from the restaurant to nearby bars, including one with outdoor seating, for drinks with staff. A staff member at another establishment he visited said Chey came "to enjoy good food and drinks in a relaxed, free atmosphere rather than a stiff official setting," adding that he stayed at the venue for about two hours and, after the meal, readily left a heartfelt handwritten autograph and posed for unforgettable photos.
The eateries Chey visited in Euljiro 3-ga are about a 20-minute walk from the SK Seorin Building, where his office is located. The area is a popular spot for autumn company gatherings among office workers, who can enjoy drinks and food outdoors in the cool fall air.
Meanwhile, SK Group is set to announce its annual reshuffle of chief executives this month.
