Game on! Talent management and production company Entertainment 360 (Game of Thrones, Ripley, Stick), based in Century City, and Santa Monica-based gaming-centric venture capital firm Griffin Gaming Partners have teamed up to launch HITpoint Entertainment, a new company “dedicated to bringing the characters, worlds, and stories of video games to film and television.”
HITpoint brings together the talent and production expertise of Entertainment 360 with Griffin Gaming‘s relationships in the sector. Griffin has more than $1.6 billion in assets under management with its investments across the video game industry and adjacent spaces. Earlier this year, Griffin launched a fund for independent gaming titles with Hollywood potential.
Both companies have experience at the intersection of gaming and Hollywood. Entertainment 360 clients are writing and starring in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda film, and the firm is also producing a recently unveiled an adaptation deal with Universal for an Atari property that wasn’t immediately disclosed. And Peter Levin, co-founder and managing director of Griffin Gaming, played a key role in bringing Fallout to the screen.
“HITpoint will source, develop, package, and produce adaptations across the full range of genres represented in gaming – from action, horror, and high-concept spectacle to comedy, romance, and coming-of-age stories,” the partners said.
The new company recognizes how core gaming has become in the entertainment landscape, with more than 3.7 billion people worldwide estimated to be actively playing video games. “Gen Z, which accounted for nearly 40 percent of North American moviegoers last year, ranks gaming as its favorite form of entertainment,” the partners also highlighted.
Recent hit screen adaptations of games include A Minecraft Movie, Amazon’s Fallout series and HBO’s The Last of Us. They have “demonstrated the enormous potential of gaming IP across both theaters and streaming,” Griffin and Entertainment 360 said. “HITpoint will combine Griffin’s relationships with game developers and publishers with Entertainment 360’s producing track record on IP-driven franchises, including Game of Thrones. In addition to providing opportunities for the firm’s clients, the new venture will mine relationships across the broader creative community, pairing each property with the filmmakers, talent, and studio partners best suited to bring it to the screen.”
The new company wants to pursue both established hit franchises and fast-growing independent games, drawing in part on Griffin’s new indie game fund to identify breakout titles and creators.
“Video games represent one of the most exciting sources of stories and characters for film and television, but adapting them successfully requires a real understanding of the creativity and passion developers bring to their work,” said Levin. “Griffin has spent many years building trusted relationships across the gaming community, from major publishers to the independent studios we support. We see this vehicle as a differentiating resource for our 100+ portfolio companies, our strategic partners as well as the gaming ecosystem writ large. I couldn’t be more excited to partner with the team at Entertainment 360 and give fans new ways to experience the stories they already love.”
“For younger audiences, games aren’t a side interest. They are where many of their favorite characters, stories, and worlds live,” said Entertainment 360, which was founded in 2002 and received a strategic minority investment from private equity firm Carlyle in 2025, allowing it to invest in its business. “There has long been an infrastructure in Hollywood for discovering books and other underlying material early. HITpoint brings that same focus to gaming. Together with Griffin, we can identify compelling IP at an early stage, bring it into a development environment, and pair it with filmmakers who genuinely understand the material and what makes it special.”
Dedicated hires to manage HITpoint will be unveiled at a later stage.
Respect for the source material will be central to HITpoint’s culture and business approach. “The company will keep game creators closely involved from initial development through production, aligning incentives while giving them direct access to leading writers, filmmakers, actors, and producing partners,” the partners highlighted.
