DJ Zinhle is about to etch her name into South African music history. Spotify has confirmed that the star is on course to become the first female DJ ever to have a song reach one million streams in a single week on the South African Spotify chart. The platform is set to officially publish the figures in its weekly chart update this Friday.
The song making waves is Nayvee's Prayer, a collaboration between DJ Zinhle, Nayvee Womculo and Young Stunna. Beyond the weekly milestone, Zinhle has also claimed the record for the most daily streams ever by a female DJ on South African Spotify, a double landmark that underlines how far the track has travelled since its release.
Music stats page The Table Chart shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday, 15 October 2026, and it quickly drew a wave of congratulations from fans and fellow artists alike.
Nayvee's prayer makes SA streaming history
The confirmation from Spotify represents a significant breakthrough, not just for DJ Zinhle personally but for female DJs in the country. No woman in the DJ space had previously crossed the one-million-streams-in-a-week threshold on South African Spotify, making this achievement a first in the local streaming landscape.
With the official chart dropping on Friday, the milestone is expected to generate even more conversation around the track and the team behind it. DJ Zinhle even took to Instagram to thank fans:
"Glory to God! 🙏🏾 NAYVEE’s Prayer is NUMBER 1 on every streaming platform in South Africa. 🥹❤️Thank you for every stream, share, video and message. You’ve taken this song into your hearts, and we’ll never take that love for granted. To NAYVEE and Young Stunna, thank you for sharing your gifts with us."
