A Korean actress opened up about her feelings six years after divorcing her actor husband, while her ex-husband recently revealed his new home and daily life on a broadcast, drawing attention to how both are moving forward with their separate lives after the divorce.
On October 14th, a video uploaded to YouTube featured Hwang Jung Eum, Shim Yi Young, and Jo Yoon Hee sharing a meal and talking about parenting and divorce.
In the video, Jo Yoon Hee expressed her concerns about raising her daughter, Roa. She said, “I had an ideal image of the kind of mother I wanted to be. Because of that, I thought Roa would also have an ideal image of a mother, and I wanted to be that kind of mom. But honestly, I don’t know what kind of mother Roa wants. She might want a mom who doesn’t get angry.”
She continued, “But it’s impossible not to get angry because even saying good things a hundred times doesn’t make a difference,” revealing the realistic challenges of parenting. Hwang Jung Eum, who is raising two sons, related her own experiences and sympathized.
Later, Hwang Jung Eum recalled the first time she heard about Jo Yoon Hee and Lee Dong Gun’s divorce. She said, “I was shocked when I saw the divorce news. Divorce isn’t something just anyone goes through. Especially for an actress, going through a divorce means bearing tremendous burdens.”

Hwang added, “Even though there was the fear of losing her career, I thought unnie was very strong for making that decision.” Jo Yoon Hee reflected, “I didn’t even realize I was this brave,” looking back on that time.
As Jo Yoon Hee shared her feelings at the time of the divorce, interest also surrounds ex-husband Lee Dong Gun’s current life. On the SBS show My Ugly Duckling aired on the 4th, Lee Dong Gun showcased his new home. When Kim Heechul visited, he noticed the sofa in the living room and asked if it was the furniture used during his married life.

Lee Dong Gun responded that he still uses the bridal furniture purchased for their marriage. He explained that the sofa and table used during their newlywed life with Jo Yoon Hee were moved to his new home and are still in use.
Regarding how he sorted out the furniture after the divorce, Lee said, “I think it’s a personal choice. Some people might take what they need, but since I found the house and started the newlywed life, I’m the one still using everything.”
Jo Yoon Hee and Lee Dong Gun married in 2017 and had a daughter, Roa, the same year, but divorced in 2020. Since then, Jo Yoon Hee has been raising their daughter, while Lee Dong Gun has shared daily life with Roa through broadcasts.
