Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday swore in six new permanent secretaries and chairmen and members of two state service commissions.
The appointments bring the number of permanent secretaries appointed under Sanwo-Olu’s administration to 135, according to a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.
The newly sworn-in permanent secretaries are Olawale Adegbite, Folashade Thomas-Orogan, Adebayo Haroun, Olayinka Oye-Bamgbose, Olatunbuson Ogunbanwo and Toyin Adekoya.

Sanwo-Olu also inaugurated members of the Audit Service Commission and the Local Government Service Commission.
The Audit Service Commission members are Arinola Dawodu, chairman; Bukola Ogunnowo, Omotayo Gbajabiamila-Olamona, Bowale Shosimi and Sunday Kappo.
The Local Government Service Commission is chaired by Akeem Bamgbola, with Adeyinka Durosinmi, Ahmed Seriki, Shamsideen Olaleye and Folashade Olabanji-Oba as members.
Speaking at the ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of Lagos House, Ikeja, the governor urged the appointees to begin work immediately and prioritise effective service delivery to residents.

He charged them to uphold professional standards and ensure the effective implementation of government policies and programmes.
“These appointments recognise your experience and service, but they also place greater expectations on you. At this level of public service, the task is not simply to occupy an office or oversee an institution. It is to make that institution work effectively and ensure that its contribution to the development of Lagos State is clear and measurable,” the governor said.
Sanwo-Olu said his administration’s vision of a Greater Lagos required a public service capable of translating policies into tangible results.
“The people of Lagos must be able to see the difference that effective governance makes in their daily lives,” he added.

He urged the appointees to discharge their duties with integrity, fairness and accountability, while remaining accessible and responsive in the performance of their responsibilities.
Earlier, the Lagos State Head of Service, Olabode Agoro, described the appointments as another milestone in the state’s pursuit of effective service delivery and good governance.
Agoro assured the governor that the appointees were ready for their responsibilities, saying they were “full of zeal and enthusiasm to make their contributions towards the development of public service and the State as a whole.”

He said the appointments reflected the administration’s commitment to meritocracy, professionalism, accountability and transparency.
The appointees, in their votes of assurance, thanked Sanwo-Olu for entrusting them with the responsibilities and pledged to perform their duties efficiently.
