The Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) has initiated the construction of eight master plan roads in Tirupati district. The bhumi pujas for the new roads at Ithepalle village in Chandragiri mandal, Settipalli, Daminedu and Kotramangalam in Tirupati Rural mandal, Erukala Bata Road, Court Road and Swarnamukhi Riverfront were held on Tuesday.
Earlier, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu virtually laid foundation stone for the projects on Monday. The estimated cost of these eight projects stood at ₹190.89 crore with the funds from TUDA and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). The works are expected to complete by March 2027.
District Collector S. Venkateswar, TUDA Chairman C. Divakar Reddy, Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani, TUDA Vice-Chairman R. Govinda Rao, TTD JEO Sarath, TTD board members Panabaka Lakshmi and Bhanuprakash Reddy, A.P. Vannekula Kshatriya Welfare and Development Corporation chairman C.R. Rajan and Yadava Corporation president Narasimha Yadav participated in the event.
Speaking to the media, the Collector said that the construction of the master plan roads had been undertaken within the limits of Tiruchanur gram panchayat, with the aim of improving transport facilities and enhancing connectivity between key areas in Tirupati city.
With Tirupati, the spiritual capital of the State, expanding rapidly, the TUDA has taken another major step towards developing infrastructure to meet the growing needs of the region. The construction of a modern road connecting Kotramangalam Road to Tiruchanur-Pudi Junction is aimed to strengthen the city’s outer ring road connectivity.
“The opening of the new road will not only reduce traffic congestion in Tirupati city but also provide improved transport facilities for travellers heading towards Srikalahasti, Naidupeta, and Chennai. Additionally, the road will contribute to the development of Daminedu and the surrounding areas,” Collector added.
