The IHSAA football postseason is here. Every team is now 0-0.
The Star Press will have extended coverage of a matchup between Yorktown (5-4) and Fort Wayne Bishop Luers (2-7) in Class 4A Sectional 20. The Tigers are a defending 4A sectional champion, but the Knights are the reigning Class 3A runner-up and are now playing up two classes from their enrollment size. Luers' record might indicate a weaker-than-usual team, but the Knights play a very tough schedule and have been one of the state's most consistent programs over the last few years, particularly in the postseason. Yorktown, meanwhile, is very banged up and finished the regular season with back-to-back losses to Pendleton Heights and Mt. Vernon.

Three other East Central Indiana teams are involved in Sectional 20. Delta (4-5) will visit Class 4A No. 10 Logansport (9-0), Jay County (3-6) will host Marion (1-8), and Muncie Central (6-3) will get a rematch on the road with North Central Conference rival Kokomo (4-5). While the Eagles and Patriots just moved up from Class 3A to 4A, the Trojans of New Castle (3-6) made the opposite move from 4A to 3A and will host 3A No. 5 Lawrenceburg (8-1) in Class 3A Sectional 30.
Class 2A Sectional 36 also looks a bit different this year with three East Central Indiana schools involved. Blackford (1-8) will host 2A No. 6 Lapel (8-1), while Shenandoah (1-8) and Winchester Community (5-4) will play each other at Winchester. In Class 1A, Monroe Central (3-4) will visit Tri (4-5) in Sectional 45 while 1A No. 7 Wes-Del (8-0) is on a first-round bye.
