WASHINGTON — Feds were looking into Hunter Biden allegedly threatening a sex worker in a text message that menacingly claimed to know her exact location and revealed his infamous laptop had recorded video of them in action, according to federal documents out Friday.
Several days after President Biden’s troubled son publicly acknowledged the feds were scrutinizing his tax filings in December 2020, an unidentified sex worker based in Los Angeles reached out to the FBI to report that Hunter sent her a “text that she perceived as threat [sic],” according to an FBI affidavit.
“Don’t forget that I know where you are, you have an ankle bracelet and that the laptop was recording,” Hunter Biden said in the message, per the affidavit, which also noted that the unidentified sex worker said she had “intercourse with RHB in front of the laptop while facetiming with a third party.”
The lady of the night alleged that Hunter Biden had, in fact, been the one who “failed to pay for sex” but succeeded in threatening the female “over a period of time” to pay him some of his money back.
It’s unclear when the sex worker was allegedly threatened, but the report was discussed in emails between FBI employees in December 2020 — one month after his father defeated President Trump in the general election.
Years later during his own court appearances for unrelated charges, Hunter Biden testified that he got sober from drugs and alcohol in June 2019, weeks after he got married to his now-wife Melissa Cohen.
“[T]he financial transaction noted in the complaint was verified by the investigative team,” per the affidavit, which was revealed in an unrelated criminal complaint against two ex-FBI senior officials unsealed Friday.
Nikki Floris, one of those senior officials, allegedly lied to Congress about their awareness of the details of federal investigations into Hunter Biden while serving on the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF).
Floris testified to the House Judiciary Committee in 2023 that she didn’t talk about probes into Hunter Biden with others at the bureau.
“I personally did not have any conversations,” she said.
But emails in the affidavit show Floris was aware of the December 2020 report concerning the Los Angeles escort that Biden threatened.
“Per our chat last week,” she wrote in an email to another FBI employee, forwarding information from a second bureau employee who had relayed the information about the report.
Hunter has repeatedly denied the authenticity of emails or photos taken from hard drives of his laptop, though FBI agents and prosecutors attested to the reliability of that evidence in open court during federal hearings.
The laptop contained tens of thousands of emails, thousands of photos, and dozens of videos and other recordings, some of which showed Hunter Biden posing half-naked with strippers, cavorting with prostitutes and engaging in other “adult entertainment” for which he paid more than half a million dollars.
Federal prosecutors considered charging Hunter Biden for possible Mann Act violations that involved women crossing state lines to engage in sex with him, but ultimately indicted him for tax and gun-related felonies in 2023.
The first son headed to trial for charges related to possessing a handgun while addicted to crack cocaine — and was convicted in June 2024 by a federal grand jury.
He pleaded guilty to federal tax delinquency in September for declining to pay the IRS $1.4 million.
But his father, former President Joe Biden, pardoned him in December 2024, one month before leaving office.
Hunter Biden’s attorney didn’t respond to a request for comment.
