The Boston Bruins closed out their four-game road trip with seven of eight possible points.
The Bruins (7-2-1) had their five-game win streak snapped in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars (5-3-1) on Tuesday night at American Airlines Center. Matt Poitras (4) and James Hagens (3) scored for the Bruins, but a Mikko Rantanen hat trick led the way for the Stars.
Jeremy Swayman made 22 of 25 saves in the overtime loss.
Throughout the road trip, the Bruins were not necessarily the sharpest team out of the gate. That changed on Tuesday night, and it was the young talent who set up the game’s opening goal. Frederic Brunet played a cross-ice feed to Matt Poitras, who beat Jake Oettinger from the slot with a one-timer.
