Hello again. You have landed on the Footballer of the Week poll story. We had quite a few nice performances on the football field this past Friday night, which was the eighth week of the season in MHSAA football action.
The voting for this week's poll will run until Wednesday at noon. This gives you plenty of time to keep those thumbs busy and voting away.
You might meet a message prompt as well if you are one of those who votes a whole lot. This is a security thing, I'm told, that is an attempt to keep the dreaded bots away. If you receive a message saying you'll be able to vote again soon, know that is a quick thing and will be one that goes away rather quickly.
Here are the nominees for Footballer of the Week:
Cooper McGee (Constantine) — McGee led the Falcons on the ground in Friday's win with 109 yards. He ran the ball only eight times but was efficient, including a 63-yard run at one point. McGee also finished the game with nine tackles to lead the Falcons.
Zak Iobe (Mendon) — Iobe ran the ball 22 times for 104 yards and scored four touchdowns as the Hornets beat Climax-Scotts. Iobe finished with nine tackles in the game as well.
Maddix Jancasz (Constantine) — Jancasz scored twice for Constantine on the ground Friday. He finished with only 39 yards rushing, but the two TDs were important for the Falcons. Jancasz also registered six tackles.
Beckett Lamb (Sturgis) — Lamb caught two passes for 43 yards in Friday's win over Otsego. He also threw a TD pass to Darren Speelman and picked off a pass, running it back for a TD on the final play of the opening half. Lamb made a monster play with a punt in the game, he also finished with six tackles.
Darren Speelman (Sturgis) — Speelman hauled in three touchdown grabs in Friday's win over Otsego. He totaled seven catches for 121 yards.
Jabari Falls (Colon) — Falls rumbled for 149 yards on the ground in Colon's win over Eau Claire on Friday. He scored five touchdowns as well.
Happy voting. You can vote as many times as you'd like, even if you get the message. Feel free to click away, it is not a personal thing against anyone if the message prompt comes up on your screen.
