It’s a very royal-studded day in England today. Hours ago, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan made their first joint public appearance since moving back to the country. Their outing made quite the splash, as fans had been waiting to see the duchess out and about since she and Harry crossed the pond in late August.
And while the prince’s royal family members stayed quiet about the Sussexes’s outing (as they have about their return to the United Kingdom), they too made headlines today, as King Charles III and Queen Camilla stepped out for an engagement in Cardiff, Wales. The monarchs attended the ceremonial opening of the seventh Senedd: the current term of the Senedd (Welsh Parliament), elected during the general election on May 7.

For the occasion, Camilla even chose a head-turning color: bright apple red. A zip-up, long-sleeve dress with a flowy skirt was paired with a matching hat featuring a dramatic arrangement of autumn leaves in the same fabric. A white scarf, nude stockings, black heels, and some diamond jewelry completed her bold ensemble.

Charles wore his go-to uniform: a navy suit with a white button-up shirt, a patterned sky-blue tie and coordinating pocket square, and black accessories (a belt and dress shoes).
