Filmmaker Subhash Ghai Saturday unveiled the first-look poster of Manya, featuring actor Shreyas Talpade, as the veteran director marks 50 years in the film industry.
The poster was shared by Ghai’s production banner, Mukta Arts, on Instagram on Saturday and features Talpade in the role of a lawyer.
Directed by Sameer Joshi, the film is presented by Mukta Arts Ltd in association with Slow Burn Entertainment and produced by Puneet Aggarwal and Rahul Puri.
Describing the film as a “heartfelt story about a boy in conflict with the law”, the production house said in its Instagram caption, “Presenting the first look of 'Manya'. 'Manya' is a heartfelt story about a boy in conflict with the law. This is the part of his story nobody stopped to ask about”.
“A film directed by Sameer Joshi, presented by Mukta Arts Ltd in association with Slow Burn Entertainment, produced by, Puneet Aggarwal and Rahul Puri. It also marks Mukta Arts’ 48th anniversary and Subhash Ghai’s 50th year in cinema,” it added.
Ghai made his directorial debut with the 1976 film Kalicharan, which featured Shatrughan Sinha, among others.
The film revolved around DSP Prabhakar, who uncovers the criminal activities of the wealthy and respected Seth Din Dayal, a secret crime lord known as Lion, who is behind extensive illegal operations.
Over the decades, Ghai has established himself as a prominent filmmaker in Hindi cinema, helming titles like Karz (1980), Hero (1983), Meri Jung (1985), Ram Lakhan (1989), Saudagar (1991), Khalnayak (1993), Pardes (1997), Taal (1999), Yaadein (2001) and Kisna (2005).
Mukta Arts also celebrated the 50-year legacy of Ghai with a montage on Instagram. “48 years ago today, Mukta Arts Ltd. began a journey driven by a love for storytelling. Every film since has been made by hundreds of people whose names roll in the end credits, and kept alive by millions who stayed in their seats to watch them roll,” the caption read.
“Today we continue to tell stories across cinemas, screens and classrooms. To everyone who has been a part of this journey, both behind the scenes and in the audience, thank you for being a part of our story,” it added.
