Stord has acquired third-party logistics provider AMS Fulfillment, adding more than 1 million square feet of warehouse space and expanding its capacity to handle orders for consumer brands as it invests in artificial intelligence and robotics.
The Atlanta-based commerce technology company announced the acquisition Wednesday (Oct. 21) in a press release, describing it as the largest deal in its history. AMS processes more than 10 million orders annually for premium beauty, wellness and direct-to-consumer brands. The transaction adds facilities in key East and West Coast markets, including the Los Angeles, Salt Lake City and Philadelphia metropolitan areas, according to Stord.

The acquisition expands Stord’s global network to more than 100 locations. The company said AMS customers will gain access over time to its broader fulfillment network, parcel program and integrated commerce technology.
AMS, which has operated for more than 20 years, brings facilities that already use automated sorting systems and other warehouse technology. Stord plans to build on that infrastructure through Stord Labs, its robotics and artificial intelligence operation, which is developing tools to automate and improve fulfillment processes.
The acquisition comes amid a broader expansion push. Stord said it secured a $400 million credit facility led by Citi in October, following a $250 million Series F funding round in May that valued the company at $3 billion. The company processes more than $15 billion in annual gross merchandise value for more than 1,000 brands, according to its announcement.
The deal builds on Stord’s strategy of combining physical logistics infrastructure with software and AI to help brands improve delivery speed, inventory management and operating efficiency. In May, PYMNTS reported that Stord’s $250 million funding round would support its fulfillment network and investment in physical AI and robotics through Stord Labs.
In January, Stord acquired AI fulfillment firm Shipwire, extending its international reach while adding technology integrations connecting online storefronts, marketplaces and enterprise systems.
