Some believe the Cincinnati Bengals could use help at running back. In a contract year, Chase Brown is yet to impress and Samaje Perine hasn’t really been a lead back in his career. Add in getting next to nothing from Tahj Brooks, some think adding outside help would make the Bengals’ offense more consistent.
With Monday’s firing of General Manager Chris Ballard, many people believe the Indianapolis Colts could become sellers before the NFL Trade Deadline. Jonathan Taylor has been one of the best running backs in the NFL and the Bengals making a trade for him could make sense for both parties.
Bengals News:
Bengals may have a green light to trade for Colts 3-time Pro Bowler after Chris Ballard’s firing, but an obstacle needs to be addressed
“If the goal is building the best possible team to win a Super Bowl this year, replacing Brown with Taylor accomplishes that. The Bengals already proved they are willing to make aggressive trades for the short-term window when they acquired Dexter Lawrence this offseason. The messaging of urgency from Cincinnati has been constant all year. Trading for one of the best ball carriers in the league to solidify the run game would be an even more aggressive swing at a title right now.”
Revenge Game? Orlando Brown Jr. Weighs In on Bengals Facing Trey Hendrickson
“The Ravens pass rusher earned his second sack of the season against the Browns. Hendrickson has been dealing with issues with his finger after having a surgery, but it seems like there’s no chance in this world he will miss the opportunity to go after Joe Burrow this week.”
Bengals have intriguing trade fit in $75.6 million Chargers All-Pro
“James would provide a boost to defensive coordinator Al Golden’s secondary, with the five-time Pro Bowler having versatility as a deep safety, slot defender and occasional pass rusher to work as a weapon alongside Cook.”
Erick All Jr. Hopes To Show Bengals’ Tight End Depth; Orlando Brown Jr.’s 40th AFC North Game Has An OId Friend
“With Hudson out and All finding his feet, the snaps and targets figure to start piling up for All, getting in his majority of plays as a maniacal blocker in the run game. Casey can see All making a huge catch like Hudson did last week, when he mowed the grass with his hands to scoop up a third-and-seven conversion that kept a drive going where he scored a touchdown.”
The Bengals used their bye to look inward. Here’s what stood out
“Taylor said the staff used the week to evaluate the team and prepare for the schedule ahead. For the players, the pause also offered time to recover and continue working back from injuries. The broader goal, Taylor said, is to turn promising stretches into a more consistent performance across the entire roster.”
