This is the horrific moment a police officer is blasted in the foot with a sawn-off shotgun – as terrified night revellers flee the scene and sprint for cover.
The Daily Mail has obtained security camera footage capturing the gun blast and the chaos that followed in Nottingham city centre in the early hours of Sunday.
The officer received treatment for the wound on the pavement outside a McDonald's restaurant before being taken to hospital where he is now recovering and in a stable condition.
Four people have been arrested – including a 27-year-old woman on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm.
The dramatic clip, taken from a business close to where the shooting took place, captured the shotgun blast at 4.48am.
A woman can be heard screaming 'no, no…what the f***' while another woman, seen eating a takeaway, recoils and seeks cover in one of the few shops still open at that time.
She is quickly joined by a third woman who is seen running across the road in terror.
As the shot rings out, a man wearing a bright yellow top, grey tracksuit trousers and white trainers, is captured sprinting up the road.

A member of the public holds an officer's bare foot in the air after he was shot in Nottingham
It is not known if he is connected to the shooting or just a panic-stricken member of the public fleeing the scene.
Witnesses initially feared the worst. Just before Nottinghamshire Police arrived to help their wounded colleague, one is heard saying: 'Oh my God, they shot him dead!'
A source told the Mail: 'It seemed to be like any normal Saturday night, early Sunday morning in Nottingham with people having come out of the pubs and clubs and enjoying a takeaway before heading home.
'But they were soon sent running in terror as a shotgun blast rang out. There was a lot of panic and confusion because nobody knew what was going on at first.
'I think those who saw the officer get shot thought he had been killed to begin with.
'Fortunately the stricken officer's colleagues arrived literally within 30 seconds, they were really quick on the scene.
'I'm glad the officer is now recovering well.
'There isn't a lot open at that time, mainly just fast-food joints, but there's always people milling about.'
The brave officer had approached two of the alleged assailants at a bus stop in the busy Angel Row area of Nottingham city centre, close to the city council building and where a Christmas market and ice rink are currently being assembled.
A large section of the street was cordoned off on Sunday but re-opened again early on Monday.
Police rushed to the scene of the shooting and arrived within seconds, witnesses said

A cordon was set up on Angel Row, near the Nottingham City Council building, as forensic officers attended the scene
Assistant Chief Constable Claire Rukas, of Nottinghamshire Police, said the officer remains in hospital and a large police presence would be in place for the next few days.
She said: 'A team of experienced detectives continues to work tirelessly to establish exactly what happened before, during and after this appalling incident.
'I am pleased that four arrests have now been made and hope this provides some reassurance to the public as those detained are questioned in connection with the discharge of the firearm.
'The police cordon in Angel Row has now been lifted, and I would like to thank local businesses, residents and members of the public for their patience, support and understanding while officers carried out vital enquiries and recovered evidence from the scene.
'The injured officer continues to recover in hospital and is receiving support from colleagues and loved ones. We ask that his privacy is respected at this time.
'Our thoughts remain with him, and with his family, friends and colleagues, who have all been affected by this deeply shocking incident.'
The 27-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday night after police swooped on a car and its three occupants in the Radford area of Nottingham.
She is being held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
A 24-year-old man and a woman, 25, were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Early on Monday morning, officers detained a man aged 30 in Bedfordshire on the same grounds.
Nottingham East Labour MP Nadia Whittome wrote on X: 'My thoughts are with the injured police officer and his family following this truly shocking incident. We all wish him a full and speedy recovery.'
The Police Federation of England and Wales also sent its best wishes to the officer.
It said in a social media post: 'This is a stark reminder of the dangers police officers face every day while protecting the public.
'Their courage and commitment must never be taken for granted.'
Mobile phone footage recorded just after the shooting showed the injured officer slumped against the wall between a McDonald's and a Taco Bell with his bloodied foot held aloft.
He was treated by a colleague and a member of the public while two doormen stood beside him as reinforcements arrived.
The graphic phone footage – later uploaded onto social media – showed a crowd of bystanders start to gather as traffic came to a standstill amid a cacophony of car horns and people shouting.
Nottingham was a gun-crime hotspot during the early 2000s and the city council even appointed a 'reputation manager' to remove the perception of it as an area blighted by gun-toting criminal gangs.
