UAE Mediation Secures Prisoner Exchange Between Russia , Ukraine

Abu Dhabi – The United Arab Emirates announced on Friday the success of a new mediation effort between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, culminating in a prisoner exchange involving 270 prisoners from both sides, bringing the total to 540.
The total number of prisoners exchanged between Russia and Ukraine through UAE mediation efforts has reached 8,537.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the cooperation of both friendly countries in the success of the UAE's mediation efforts, recognizing its role as a trusted international mediator. The Ministry also expressed appreciation for the UAE's commitment to supporting all endeavors aimed at resolving the crisis between the two countries.
The Ministry stated that with the success of this mediation, the total number of UAE mediation efforts during the crisis has reached 27. These efforts stem from the distinguished relations that bind the UAE to both the Russian Federation and Ukraine, as reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the UAE will continue its efforts to support various endeavors to reach a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine and to alleviate the humanitarian effects of the crisis.
