The Hope College women's basketball team has released its roster for the 2026-27 season and it will be a reloading season for the Flying Dutch.
Hope was 26-4 last year, winning the MIAA Tournament and reaching the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Hope will return starters Terin Maynard (guard), Leah Richards (center), Anna Richards (guard) and Maddie Petroelje (guard/forward) as well as backup point guard/sixth woman Josie DeSmit. The only starter who graduated was Sydney Vis.

That leaves one starting spot that could go a number of directions. If the Flying Dutch want to go with a smaller lineup, senior Chloe Brunsberg would be the likely choice.
If they want to go big, Katie Blazei might be the fifth starter.
Freshmen on the team include Sophia Prins (Byron Center, South Christian), Lizzie Wolthuis (Byron Center, South Christian), Olivia Jones (Pendleton, Ind.) and Payton Wallin (Minooka Ill.).
Seniors are Brunsberg, Meynard, guard Emma Yakey and center Grayson Guy.
Juniors include the Richards sisters, Blazei and Petroelje.
Sophomores are DeSmit, guard Bayli Stewart, guard Gillian Sorrelle and forward Sydney Bode.
The Flying Dutch tip off the season at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 6, when they host Wisconsin-Platteville at DeVos Fieldhouse in the Michele Schoon Tournament.
