Sri Lanka is experiencing an islandwide power outage following a system failure caused by instability in the electricity grid this morning (17), the National System Operator (NSO) said.
The NSO is currently working to restore the power supply and bring the system back to normal.
Meanwhile, the NSO has requested owners of rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to disconnect their systems until further notice to support restoration efforts.
The public has been urged to cooperate with the request until the NSO issues further instructions.
