Warriors’ Steph Curry Reacts Strongly to Luka Doncic Trash Talk Controversy

Stephen Curry has weighed in on the growing conversation surrounding Luka Doncic and Golden State Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg.

The veteran guard supports the rookie's confidence and competitive approach.

Curry's comments come after Lendeborg made headlines for his blunt assessment of Doncic following the Warriors' season-opening loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Lendeborg did not hold back when discussing his experience guarding Doncic. He said he had "lost all respect" for the Slovenian star.

Curry, however, sees the competitive side of Lendeborg's approach as a positive:

“I love confidence. I love that care and passion. From what I’ve seen from him, it’s just about playing basketball. It’s not about anything else other than the competitiveness. So, he’s setting the table for himself to show up, and I like that nature of the game. Whether you do it in between your ears or you let it out, I know he’ll be able to back it up.” Curry said in the post-game conference.

Luka Doncic had a response ready for Yaxel Lendeborg's trash talk:

“He was talking crazy … I knew that was going before I got it in my hands. I work on those.” Doncic said after the game.

The Warriors lost their opener to the Lakers, but Lendeborg's matchup with Doncic has already created an intriguing storyline for their upcoming meetings.

Curry's support could help the rookie settle into his role. Still, Lendeborg will need strong performances to ensure the conversation stays focused on his basketball rather than his comments.
