Planning and Development Minister Salim Cripton Valá chaired a meeting in Pemba with UNOPS and partners of the Northern Crisis Recovery Project (NCRP), implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services, with funding from the World Bank and under the oversight of the Government of Mozambique.

On the occasion, the minister highlighted the importance of institutional coordination, compliance with procurement rules and dialogue with the business sector to improve the implementation of development projects.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to gather contributions from businesspeople in Cabo Delgado on the participation of local companies and the implementation and supervision of works. Among the proposals put forward was dividing projects into smaller lots to broaden opportunities for contractors in the province to participate.
