Macura was served with a ban on entering Montenegro on national security grounds, Vijesti reported, citing independent sources. No official explanation for the ban was released.
Macura's business interests span banking, payment services, retailers and real estate. His rapid expansion has attracted media scrutiny in Serbia, where several media outlets described him as close to the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). The European Central Bank challenged the acquisition of Austria's Addiko Bank by Macura’s Alta Pay.
In 2020, his company bought the former IMT industrial complex in Belgrade for a reported €70 million. Media investigations have also linked his business interests to properties associated with Milan Radoicic and Zvonko Veselinovic, figures connected to Serbia's ruling establishment. His business expansion has included contracts involving state-owned companies, including EPS.
