- 1Password has created a way for AI agents to use your passwords without actually seeing them.
- When an agent reaches a login screen, 1Password for Agents will autofill the password or one-time code so the agent can’t see or take possession of your credentials.
- It will work with a range of AI agents, such as Muse and Grok, with more to come later.
You may trust an AI agent to help with your work, but you probably draw the line at letting it access your passwords. While understandable, that choice can also act as an obstacle when an AI agent needs access to an account. 1Password aims to solve the security risks of AI agent account access with its new solution.
The digital vault and password manager company has announced 1Password for Agents. This new platform is designed to let AI agents use your passwords without letting the agent actually see or take possession of them. You’ll be able to connect it with Facebook’s Muse and SpaceX Super Intelligence’s Grok bot. More agent connections are expected to be on the way, including Claude Duet, ChatGPT Work and dots, Perplexity, and more.
