It’s all systems go, as Appleton Estate Republic Weekend kicks off Friday and runs until Monday October 19.
Patrons are in for a treat with five events over four days, catering to their entertainment needs.
The popular Fanatic Festival, sponsored by Campari, will make its out-of-town debut Friday night at Plantation Cove in St Ann. On Saturday, the action intensifies with Rose’ N Roses, powered by Espolo’n Tequila, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and later on from 9:00 pm to 3:00 am, Campari Night Carnival will illuminate Plantation Cove.
Appleton Estate Republic Beach Club will run from 12 noon to 6:00 pm on Sunday and on Monday, the vibes will culminate with Republic Bush from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Dr Mikhail “IQ” De Gale, managing director & director of marketing for Republic Enterprises Ltd, told
Observer Online on Thursday that plans are in place for an enjoyable weekend.
“We’re excited to welcome everyone to Plantation Cove for the inaugural Appleton Estate Republic Weekend. Event setup and design are already underway, and we’re currently packing the Republic Weekend bags. We want patrons to get a real treat when they collect them. A lot of time, energy and effort has gone into organising this experience. We’re looking at how every event comes together and making sure patrons have an enjoyable weekend from start to finish,” said De Gale.
He also gave an insight into what patrons can expect throughout the weekend.
“No two events will feel the same. Campari Fanatic Ochi brings the dancehall stage-show experience, with Feloni19, Ai Milly, Top Banks, C9 and Shewahdexta on the performance lineup. Appleton Estate Rosé N Roses brings a brunch atmosphere, with food, fashion and an opportunity to enjoy the day with friends.
“Campari Night Carnival lets patrons re-live the carnival experience at night, complete with a road march. Appleton Estate Republic Beach Club brings the beach-party atmosphere on Sunday, and Monday is about J’ouvert with #SSS Republic Bush, which will also feature a performance by Lil Kerry,” De Gale shared. “That variety is what makes Republic Weekend special. We want everyone to enjoy each event for what it brings and leave with great memories.”
As it relates to traffic congestion, De Gale noted, “We encourage patrons to travel early, allow extra time for their journey and follow the directions of police and event personnel when approaching Plantation Cove. With several events taking place over the holiday weekend, planning your arrival will help make the experience smoother for everyone.”
In terms of patron safety and the security of vehicles at the venue, De Gale was quick to point out that these are top priority for his team.
“Plantation Cove provides a secure setting, and we will have more than 40 police officers on the ground for each event, alongside additional security personnel. Our security arrangements cover the event experience, including attention to the parking areas. We want patrons to feel comfortable coming out and enjoying themselves, and we ask everyone to cooperate with police and security personnel and follow their directions,” he said.
A strong mix of DJs have been commissioned to ensure the party never stops. They include Fyahman & Vinchi, DJ Deva Kidd, DJ Mac & Baba, DJ Kryptic, DJ Zacky & Jubba, DJ Royal Bri, ZJ Romzii, Lady Drea, Tonio and Fyahman, Coppershot, Richie Ras, Franco & Brush1, Freeze International, Lantern, DJ Mindless, Kevi The Kinetic, A-Team, Coppershot and DJ Remy.
“There will be plenty of musical variety throughout the weekend,” De Gale assured.
