Members of the ‘Tinubu Must Go’ movement on Sunday staged a street protest in Kano, accusing the police of interfering with their planned gathering.
The movement’s convener, Abba Hikima, alleged that police officers blocked access to the venue of their meeting, with more than 10 mobile police vehicles reportedly deployed to the area.
Hikima accused the police of violating the group’s rights to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression, insisting that members should be allowed to express their views without undue restrictions.

Despite the alleged obstruction, members of the movement later marched through the streets, chanting “Tinubu Must Go” and waving flags bearing the group’s branding.
The protest came amid concerns over citizens’ rights to organise peaceful demonstrations and express their political opinions.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kano State Police Command had yet to publicly respond to the allegations.
