Bayern Munich youngster Maycon Cardozo could be on Brazil’s radar as he continues his development in Germany, with Brazil U-20 and U-23 head coach Paulo Victor Gomes recently visiting Säbener Straße.
According to Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Gomes met with Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany and club legend Dante during his visit. One of the reasons for the trip was Cardozo, as the Brazilian coach continues to monitor young Brazilian talents playing abroad.
Cardozo is currently working his way back from shoulder surgery, meaning the youngster is focused on his recovery as he looks to get back on the pitch. Nevertheless, his progress at Bayern has evidently caught the attention of those responsible for identifying Brazil’s next generation of international talent.
For Cardozo, the interest could be particularly meaningful. The youngster has repeatedly emphasized that representing Brazil’s national teams is a major personal ambition, making Gomes’ visit an encouraging development as he works toward that goal.
There is no indication yet that a call-up is imminent, but the visit highlights the attention Cardozo is receiving as he continues his journey at Bayern.
With Brazil keeping tabs on its emerging talents across Europe, Cardozo will hope to recover fully, return to action, and eventually turn his international dream into reality.
