There’s a reason leopard print never really goes away, it’s the one pattern that’s both timeless and modern, whichever room you put it in.
Right now, though, it’s having a proper moment in homeware, not just in our wardrobe. And once you start noticing it, it’s hard to stop shopping.
Part of its appeal is its versatility – we’d argue it is, in fact, a neutral print. Now we’re not saying that you should completely overhaul your living room, bathroom or bedroom with head-to-toe animal print.
Take the Leopard Print Wooden Shelf With Bracket (£95) from Rockett St George for example. Made from mango wood, the leopard print is etched into the grain, adding character without feeling like a statement piece.
And of course it’s functional, too; add it to a hallway, above a console table or under a bathroom mirror.
Embracing the leopard print trend doesn’t have to be a big commitment, though. Smaller touches like this Hot Pink & Leopard Print Rounded Corner Photo Frame (£10) from Dunelm is a simple way to dip a toe in thanks to a fabric-covered edge. Leave as is for a bit of morning motivation, or print out your favourite photo and keep it close.
In the kitchen, Anthropologie’s hand-painted Anna + Nina Leopard Mug (£25) caught our eye for its hand-painted design, which will brighten your morning coffee.
If you’re shopping on a budget, this Leopard Print Easy Fit Drum Lamp Shade (£25) from Dunelm is an easy way to update your ceilings, and is perfect for catching the light on winter evenings.
Or if you love a lamp, George at Asda’s has you covered with this Black Leopard Print Battery Table Lamp (£15). It’s battery-powered, so if you’re indecisive, it can go anywhere from a bookshelf to a bathroom windowsill without worrying about trailing cables, and for less than £20 is a total bargain.
Soft furnishings are where the print really shines, and are an easy way to give your space a seasonal update.
We love Oliver Bonas’s Brown & Red Ruffle Leopard Print Cushion Cover (£25) that’s covered in animal print with a ruffled trim and bright red embroidery, making it ideal for anyone who’s a maximalist.
Meanwhile, John Lewis’s own-brand Leopard Print Towels (from £12) are our favourite bathroom addition. They look good and don’t cost a fortune; what’s not to love?
Whether it’s carved into wood, woven into cotton, or hand-painted onto stoneware, leopard print is a genuine design staple, proving that some patterns truly never go out of style.
