The 2026 edition of the Republic Bank Luv FM Habitat Fair has been launched in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi, with a target of making homeownership accessible to the average Ghanaian.
The annual event is aimed at bringing key stakeholders in the housing and construction industry together in one place to make homeownership more accessible.
The five-day event is scheduled to take place from November 25 to 29, 2026, at the Kumasi City Mall. But this will be preceded by a mini-clinic on Friday, October 30, at the Poku Trading Arcade in Adum.
The event is offering prospective homeowners and property developers an opportunity to access housing-related services, building materials, financing and interior decoration solutions under one roof.
The housing deficit in Ghana is seemingly compounding with recent population growth.
The Luv FM/Republic Bank Habitat Fair is in its eighth year and continues to attract relevant institutions to help address challenges making home ownership more affordable and accessible.
The annual fair is designed to bring stakeholders across the building and construction value chain together, enabling prospective homeowners to access reliable services, appropriate resources and building solutions at competitive prices.
By bringing these services together at the Kumasi City Mall, the organisers aim to make it easier for patrons to explore available options, obtain relevant information and identify solutions that suit their housing needs and budgets.
Relationship Manager at Luv FM and Nhyira FM, Maxwell Frimpong Manso, says the fair has become an established initiative in Kumasi, providing practical solutions to challenges associated with building and owning homes.
He identified the Lands Commission, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Asantehene’s Land Secretariat and other stakeholders as key participants whose involvement helps prospective homeowners access the necessary guidance and services.
“Habitat Fair has come to stay here in Kumasi as an important initiative in addressing the housing deficit and the growing demand for housing in the Ashanti region. The fair would cover more than the construction of houses, with interior decoration products and services also available to patrons,” he said.
Head of Mortgage Banking at Republic Bank, Dan Adjetey Mohenu, indicated the bank’s partnership with Luv FM for the fair reflects its commitment to supporting individuals at different stages of home building.
He explained that the bank’s financing solutions are not limited to people seeking to purchase completed houses but also extend to individuals who are gradually developing their own properties.
According to him, prospective homeowners could explore financing options for various stages of construction, including foundation works, as well as funding for interior decoration.
“The bank was prepared to support eligible customers with the financial resources needed to advance their housing projects, subject to the bank’s assessment criteria and requirements. Applicants would be required to demonstrate their financing needs and provide the necessary supporting information for the bank to assess their applications,” he said.
The partnership is expected to give prospective homeowners access to both housing-related services and financial solutions, helping them navigate the often-challenging process of building or acquiring a home.
The 2026 Luv FM-Republic Bank Habitat Fair is expected to provide a platform for prospective homeowners to engage directly with professionals and institutions involved in land acquisition, construction, financing and home improvement.
